Far7aneen, Mar3oobeen
During the cataclysmic events of 1979, Sheikh Imam & his band members recorded two songs: "Far7aneen" and "Mar3oobeen", each detailing the emotions of some people depending on how they felt about what was happening at the time. The two songs clarify people's loyalties: Whether they are for the movement of history on the side of the People, or whether they retain their loyalties for the symbols of power who pay their wages and thereby control their minds and actions. (Words are by Ahmad Fouad Najm, music by Sheikh Imam Issa, of course.)

Another new yet very promising blog :) And another Sheikh Imam fan! :)))
Excellent choice of songs!
If you're living in Lebanon, I hope you'll manage to make it to the "Fuad Haddad poetry & song event" in Beirut! If you're a fan of Sheikh Imam, you will certainly enjoy it. The Oud player who's going to be with us is a loyal student of the "Sayed Darwishe -and later- Sheikh Imam & Sayed Mekkawy school". He's very young, yet he already composed very promising pieces of music.
We kol thawra wehna farhaneen!

ونحن اليوم فرحانين بالثورة التونسية كما فرحنا بأنتصار رجال الله في لبنان في 2006
